Merchant Basics Affiliate Summit Session

Deb Carney (aka Loxly) and Jeff Grill presented at Affiliate Summit in a session titled, Merchant Basics. So why did I, an affiliate, attend a session aimed at merchants? A few reasons:

Deb and I have done podcasts together, educating merchants on how to run a successful affiliate program. She, from the merchant / OPM side and I as an affiliate. It’s good to make sure you and your partner are on the same page (more on this later).
I was representing the press (as a blogger) and didn’t want to just cover affiliate sessions.

Wil Reynolds’ Keynote at Affiliate Summit

Wil Reynolds gave Monday morning’s keynote at Affiliate Summit, titled No more ****ing Shortcuts.

Wil was took the stage to some sort of Google theme song… too bad I didn’t Shazam it (is Shazam a verb? Now it is). He immediately brought up Panda, and how much he loves it because crap stopped showing up in results.

Eric Thomas To Keynote Affiliate Summit West

Eric Thomas, The Hip Hop Preacher, has been scheduled to Keynote at Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas in January, 2012.

I first recommended Eric to Shawn back in March, but Affiliate Summit already had the keynote speakers lined up for this summer’s show. Then Jon Spoelstra had to cancel, leaving an opening keynote to be filled. I hoped ET and Affiliate Summit could work out a deal for Eric to fill in, but it didn’t work out in time for #ASE11. However, they did reach a deal to have ET Keynote at #ASW12!
